The importance of measuring dry film thickness is to ensure that the coating reaches the required thickness to avoid premature failure due to inappropriate coating thickness, especially for floor coatings.Dry film thickness measurements must be made using a dry film thickness gauge after the film is completely dry.

The commonly used dry film thickness gage on the floor is the destructive thickness gage and calipers.When testing, the selection of measuring points should pay attention to representativeness.Due to the destructive nature of the testing, sampling and inspection can only be carried out in areas such as edges and corners that do not affect the appearance.The requirements for film thickness are generally as follows: the average value of all thickness measurement points should not be less than 90% of the specified dry film thickness;The number of measuring points not reaching the specified dry film thickness should not exceed 10% of the total number of measuring points.
